← Back to all jobsKadd Systems is hiring a Network Monitoring System Engineer to architect and evolve enterprise network monitoring solutions for a large federal agency. This onsite position is located in Woodlawn, MD (near Baltimore).
Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve enterprise network monitoring for visibility, reliability, and efficiency
- Lead event correlation, topology modeling, and root cause analysis strategies
- Evaluate and optimize monitoring tools (SMARTS, NetOps, SL1, Netcool)
- Drive NOC effectiveness: alarm reduction, actionable alerting, incident response
- Design service-aware monitoring mapping infrastructure events to mission impact
- Integrate monitoring with SIEM/SOAR platforms (e.g., Splunk)
- Identify automation, AIOps, and predictive analytics opportunities
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years in network monitoring, network engineering, or NOC operations in large/federal environments
- Hands-on with at least one of: VMware SMARTS, Broadcom DX NetOps (Spectrum), ScienceLogic SL1, IBM Netcool, or comparable
- Expertise in event correlation, topology modeling, and root cause analysis
- Strong SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, telemetry, syslog, WAN/LAN, firewalls, load balancers, hybrid cloud
- SIEM/log integration experience (e.g., Splunk)
